Lori Stratychuk - Strategic Transitions

Curious. Empathic. Focused on you. Ottawa • In person & Online

About

I work with you to explore what your best life looks like — and create a path to get there.

I’ve always been someone who looks for patterns...in information, in problems, and in the choices we humans make. For more than 30 years, I made a career of making sense of complexity and supporting better decisions. I’ve also navigated plenty of change in my own life, including career change, retirement, divorce and an empty nest.

After retiring from my data career, I completed my Life Coach Certificate at Rhodes Wellness College. Coaching felt like a natural next step — a chance to bring together my curiosity, analytical side, life experience and genuine interest in helping people.

My approach is simple: I listen closely, ask thoughtful questions, notice patterns and sometimes challenge assumptions. I’m not here to give you the answers. I’m here to help you uncover your own.

Testimonials

I feel absolutely thrilled to have found Strategic Transitions a year after retiring from a very busy career. I had no idea there was such specialized expertise available to help people navigate major life transitions—and I’m so grateful I found Lori.
Lori came to the rescue with a four-week intensive program curated specifically to my needs. She is a gifted coach who specializes in transitions. She listens deeply, recognizes patterns, and asks insightful questions that helped me reframe how I was approaching this new chapter of my life and create a more positive path forward.
Lori is exceptionally skilled at helping clients make sense of times of change. She combines professional coaching training with more than 30 years of work experience and brings a thoughtful, practical coaching mindset to every conversation. One of her strengths is ensuring that you leave with greater clarity and a concrete action plan for moving forward.
I also love that Strategic Transitions offers different packages, making it possible to get focused, short-term support or work toward longer-term career and life goals. I would highly recommend Lori to anyone navigating a significant transition—at any stage of life.

I enjoyed working with Lori. As my coach, I found her to be very empathetic and insightful. Lori is genuine and professional. I never felt judged or minimized while working with her, Lori was very understanding and encouraging. As a coach, Lori helped me during a difficult time and worked with me in a way that helped reduce my anxiety over a significant life change. I definitely recommend Lori and Strategic Transitions.

- Lorrie R

Lori was incredibly helpful to me during a very important transition in my life. What I appreciated most was her ability to help me step back, clarify my ideas, and really understand what I wanted and needed from this next chapter. She helped me formulate the right questions to ask and gave me a different perspective that allowed me to go into important conversations feeling much more prepared and confident. She never made me feel like she was simply telling me what to do; instead, she helped me think things through for myself, make my ideas clearer, and ultimately make decisions that felt right for me. Her insight, professionalism, and genuine ability to guide people through major life transitions really stood out to me. I’m very grateful for her guidance and would highly recommend Lori to anyone going through an important change and looking for someone who can help bring clarity, perspective, and confidence to the process.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is life coaching?
Life coaching is a collaborative process that gives you dedicated time and space to think about where you are, where you want to go, and what might help you get there.

Sometimes that means making a decision or creating a plan. Other times, it means stepping back, looking at things differently, or exploring what your best life might look like before deciding what comes next.

My role isn’t to tell you what to do. It’s to listen, ask good questions, notice patterns and challenge assumptions when helpful — and to work with you to co-create a path toward the life you want.
What can we work on together?
Anything you want.
You might have a decision to make, a problem to work through, a change you didn’t expect, or just a nagging feeling that something in your life could be better.
Career, retirement, relationships, divorce, empty nest, changing priorities — whatever is on your mind.
Whatever brings you here, we can talk it through — and create a path toward the life you want.
What happens during a coaching session?
The session is shaped around what’s most important to you that day.
I’ll listen, ask questions, help you explore different perspectives, notice patterns and challenge assumptions when useful. You may leave with a specific next step, a new perspective, or simply greater clarity about what you want.
The hour is yours.
Is coaching confidential?
Yes. What you share during coaching is fully confidential, with limited exceptions required by the law.
The limits are outlined in your Coaching Agreement. You'll receive the agreement before we begin so you know exactly what to expect.
Do you offer in-person and online coaching?
Yes. Online coaching is available by Zoom.
If you’re in the Ottawa area, I’m also happy to meet in person.
Check out the Walk & Talk option, or contact me to explore in-person session options.
What if I live in a different timezone?
No worries. We can work together online.
The calendar automatically shows appointments in your local time.
How does the booking process work
Once you have purchased your package, you can book any or all of your appointments, up to 3 months in the future.
For anyone with a monthly or bi-monthly subscription, unused appointments will carry forward.
What is Walk & Talk Coaching?
Walk & Talk takes coaching outdoors. Moving can make it easier to think, talk and gain perspective. It can also be a first step toward new habits... getting outside, moving more, and creating change that supports both your physical and emotional well-being.

Sessions are 60 minutes and take place at a mutually agreed location within 15 km of west-central Ottawa. If you’d like to meet farther away, just ask (additional travel fees may apply).
What happens if the weather is bad for a Walk & Talk session?
A little imperfect weather won’t necessarily stop us, but safety and your comfort come first.
If conditions aren’t suitable for walking, we can either:
  1. Reschedule our Walk & Talk for another day; or
  2. Meet online instead. Because I won’t need to travel, I’ll also credit you an additional online session at no charge.
